Your heart, like any other muscle, needs physical activity to keep it healthy. The idea of exercise is to get your heart pumping faster, which will exercise and strengthen your heart as well as the muscles that you are using in your body.
Young visitors are invited to take part in our ‘Fitness Fun Zone’ challenge. Participants will have their heart rate taken before and just after 5 minutes of bouncing on a space hopper, hula hooping or skipping. Our team will be on hand to explain how being active can help you have a happy healthy heart and feel great!
At NCPHWR we work on a wide range of research projects and interventions that are aimed at improving the health and well-being of children, teenagers and young adults.
